December Stay-at-home Date Night Ideas | Welcome to another Merry Monday here on the blog! Blake and I have been together for a little more than two years now. Although we live in south Florida, where date nights “in” are more of a choice than due to weather, we do enjoy a nice date night in!
With Christmas right around the corner, I think date nights at home are so much cozier than any other time of the year! The yellow-tinted lights on the big Christmas tree and all the decorations just make me WANT to stay in. But date nights in are much more than just sitting in the presence of Christmas lights! Here are some of B and I’s favorite holiday-themed stay-at-home date nights:
Date Night One | A Christmas Movie and Hot Chocolate
This is my first idea because it is my favorite one! Blake and I have been doing this like 3 nights a week since the beginning of November (whoops!) haha. I love watching cheesy (and I mean real cheesy) hallmark movies! Netflix also has a few (that I think Blake has enjoyed a little more if you’re trying to find a “not-so-girly” option)! Also, it’s super fun to go all-out on your hot chocolate! Add whipped cream, a candy cane, chocolate syrup. You name it? You add it.
Date Night Two | Christmas-Themed Puzzle Night
Blake and I are honestly 80-year-olds at heart- we love this one! We crank up the Christmas tunes and can work for several hours on a good puzzle, and it’s kinda fun to make something together (and it teaches problem-solving skills.. woah!) haha
Date Night Three | D E C O R A T E !
Now, if you heard me talking about these Christmas lights earlier and were thinking “haha what Christmas lights?”.. this one is for you! Go out and find yourself some Christmas decor.. (you can even buy it on amazon if you don’t want to go to the store!) then spend some quality time decorating for Christmas!
Date Night Four | Cookie Decorating
It doesn’t matter if it is December 1st or 25th, Christmas cookies are in season the minute thanksgiving day ends in my books (although I actually prefer chocolate chip cookies whoops). See who can decorate the best cookie, or just simply enjoy the quality time making cookies! (Also, there’s no shame in the simple place-and-bake babies either…)
Date Night Five | Online Treasure Hunt
Set your budget: $10, 25, etc. and buy a gift for the other person! You can set a time limit to find a gift, you can limit the place (i.e. find something on amazon, etsy, etc) and then surprise your S.O.! (You can then follow this up with a nice hallmark movie and hot chocolate!! haha)
So now that December is approaching, you now have five super cozy date night ideas for those stay-at-home nights!
