Planning the BEST YEAR of your life | Alright, so first you set your BIG goals, then you broke these goals down into attainable goals that you could achieve in a month. Great, we’ve got goals! But how do we hold ourselves accountable to these goals? The key to planning the best year of your life is to plan out your goals and to keep yourself accountable to them. Buttt it’s easier said than done.
I know that first hand. Self-accountability is one of the most difficult aspects of life to master, at least for myself it is. But we can do it. We just have to help ourselves a little bit.
Here are some ideas and ways to plan out 2020 and make it the BEST YEAR of your life:
1 | Plan Out Your Goals

This is my favorite part of goal setting – the part where we take out our planners! I prefer a weekly planner, however you can use whatever planner works best for you. For 2020 I am actually using two planners: one for school and one for blogging, in conjunction with my google calendar! My school planner started in August, and I cannot find any links for it, I am using the Create & Cultivate Brand for my blogging planner, which you can find here!
Add in your goals for the week, as well as any work, school, family or any other obligations you know of!
I suggest working one month at a time. (I wouldn’t add in all of my goals from now until December of next year). Instead, I will place my goals sticky notes on February, and I will revisit my goals when I sit down to plan for that month. This will allow you to adjust your goals as necessary, and it will also allow you to reflect on your goals and make alterations as needed.
2 | Talk to Someone
I think this one is kinda a given, but I threw it in here because I feel like it is so important. If you tell someone, now you HAVE to do it, and its bonus points if they want to join you on your journey (just make sure they are as dedicated to the goal as you are, or they may hinder you more than help you along this journey).
3 | Set Some Reminders
If you told yourself you’re going to the gym after work every day, set your alarm to go off and remind you to go to the gym. **Pro TIp** If you add these ideas to your google or apple calendar, they will actually set reminders for you, and it will make it even easier to follow your plan!

4 | Get Motivated
Do anything that will inspire you to keep going. Create an inspiration board, inspired by my post here. Create a private instagram to track your progress. Or a public one if you want. Start a journal where you can jot your progress down, and any thoughts, feelings, etc. Write your goals in places where you will see them daily. Change your phone lock screen. Put a sticky note on your steering wheel. The bottom line? Find ways to motivate and remind yourself about your goals.
