Our First Time On Marco Island!

This week we took a trip to Marco Island! We had such a fun time hiking, sightseeing, and hanging out by the beach! We shot some footage of our trip that you can watch below:

The Itinerary: Marco Island

So, we got a pretty late start to our adventure! Blake and I have both been feeling a little under the weather over the last week or so, so we wanted to keep it chill and pretty relaxing! I was surprised how little people we seemed to encounter, considering we are in peak times right now for tourists and snowbirds!

Briggs Park

Briggs Park was so much fun! The path was mostly made of wood (it was a boardwalk lol) and it was very easy! We spent about an hour here eating and walking around. We spent quite a bit of time at the overlook and were able to chill out! The trail wasn’t very heavily trafficked, at least when we went!

Otter’s Mound Preserve

Otter’ Mound Preserve Park was super short and sweet.. let’s just say I wouldn’t plan my whole day around this park, but if you’re in the area and could spare 10-15 minutes, this park was alright! Something pretty cool about this place was that they had quite a few of the plants labeled – so if you wanna know, you will know!

The Beach

We were super lucky and found free parking near the public beach access! We walked the stretch of hotels and stores along the beach, then hopped over to the sand to play some soccer and watch the sunset on the beach! The beach wasn’t too crowded and the sunset was pretty! (But we really messed up by not bringing food to the beach!)

What We’re Saving for Next Time:

OH the good old shoulda, woulda, couldas. Haha. But for real, I would like to mention this, especially if you’re considering Marco as a place to vacation!

Because we weren’t feeling well, we didn’t want to overexert ourselves, but some things we want to do next time are:

  1. BIKING – The bike rentals are much cheaper than Sanibel, but they’re day-long rentals! So keep that in mind when planning your trip!
  2. KAYAKING / JETSKIING – There are some pretty cool canals, rivers, and just plain sights to see on the water around Marco island. It’s definitely on my bucket list for next time!

And we’re leaving you with that! If you enjoyed this post, click here to see more of our travel vids! Thank you so much for reading all the way through, I hope you love our adventure! Let us know what your favorite part of our trip or video in the comments below!

See ya soon!

This would be a perfect day trip! It’s only 3 hours away from us. It looks like such a fun trip.

self care is 100% about what is soothing/restoring self care is 100% about what is soothing/restoring to you. For some, it’s a bubble bath or a face mask, but for me it’s exploring and adventuring. It’s discovering new places and feeling this overwhelming sense of awe of God’s creation. ————
